Our development work continues with our partners at renowned fragrance houses who work from our formulas to test and edit to perfection. This rare collaboration affords us access to their expertise and to some of the world’s highest quality raw materials, including sustainable and upcycled ingredients. It is an honor and privilege and also how we are able to achieve uncompromisded excellence with every fragrance we put our name on.

Facets of a Fragrance

There are many ways to create a fragrance. Our method adopts a classic approach of building individual accords that each reveal a part of the fragrance’s personality in facets. When harmonized, they create a beautifully complex story. A story that is meant to intrigue and evolve over time on the skin and engage emotionally.

Our approach in creating scent accords unites the intentional with the instinctual, always returning to what we consider the signature facets of our fragrances: TEXTURE, MOVEMENT and RESONANCE.

source adage fragrances launched in historic Hudson, New York in 2015. Founded by creative directors, Christopher Draghi and Robert Dobay, the duo set the stage for their bold, new fragrance collections in their reenvisioned 1830s Greek Rival house on Hudson’s famed Warren Street. The striking, dark exterior and curated interior design communicated the brand’s signature style and distinct point of view.

Since source adage’s debut, Christopher and Robert’s passion for fragrance has grown just as their unique product offerings have. Complex, gender-inclusive fine fragrances, that align to the brand’s destination-inspired themes, further defined source adage as a true fragrance lover’s brand. Evocative scent compositions, uncompromising quality, and sophisticated packaging design has become a trademark of the brand and an expectation of a loyal client base, press, and industry followers, alike.

Capitalizing on a successful “first chapter” in New York, Christopher and Robert decided to write an exciting next one in a sublime location: Tuscany! Their long term plan was realized with returning to Italy, where, years previous, they first dreamed up their fragrance brand. Their new location, a quiet seaside village overlooking the Mediterranean, is the home their new “adage studio olfattivo” where they’ll continue their journey with fragrances and welcome fragrance enthusiasts in the new, picturesque setting.

With the move, Christopher and Robert are able to work along side of local artisans to produce and bottle the brand’s coveted scents for the European market. They have a rich catalog to reintroduce to a new audience, with debuts ready to join the unique scent collection. It isn’t hard to envision how the aromatics of the Italian countryside may soon filter into future scents...
