And a new fragrance journey begins…
Although it may have come as a surprise to many, we have fulfilled our dream of moving (back) to Italy this spring! A long-term plan that got fast-tracked with the culmination of several factors that all pointed towards the rolling hillsides of our beloved Tuscany. Some even asked, “why?” when we went official with the news. Although it may have seemed counterintuitive with our brand growing Stateside, our constant response was, “Because…well, ITALY!”.
One of the main reasons for our leap towards the “old country”, though, was/is to introduce and expand Adage into Europe. Could we have done that from our cozy position in upstate New York? Yes. But, again…ITALY!
Beyond the postcard views, Aperol spritz breaks, and sunny weather, Italy, and Europe as a whole, is steeped in centuries’ old fragrance culture and traditions. There is a longstanding awareness of the power of scent to influence mood, set the tone of a space, and elicit emotional responses. Speaking from previous experience of living in Italy, the senses are at the core of much of the Mediterranean life. Art and architecture, ancient and contemporary, evoke scent. Music conjures scent. And, naturally, the magnificent terrain offers up an unyielding stream of succulent herbal, floral, and earthen notes. So much so that it’s a daunting task to even know where to begin looking for the next fragrance inspiration. (but we have a couple ideas!)
As we settle into our new surroundings and organize production our beloved Adage fragrances here, we’ll be sharing new inspirations, thoughts on fragrance, and a lot more news just waiting to be revealed. We have a lot planned so we hope our fragrance family will join us on the new adventure and enjoy the insights as we build upon the Adage story…
